Today’s Mini Tip Monday doesn’t have to do with photography, but it is a tip that has helped me the last week in planning our trip to Florida. I read on blogs about hiring travel specialists to book your trip to Disneyworld and they were TOTALLY right. A travel specialist doesn’t cost you anything (they get their commission from Disney/Universal) and they know about all the deals and insider tricks that those of us that don’t do this all the time don’t know about. I have been working with Krista at Mouse Tales Travel and I just love her! She saved me a TON of time and got us some really great deals too! We found out that we get a free dining plan EVERY day we stay at one of Disneyworld’s Hotels, even if we don’t go to the park that day. Food is expensive there, so that alone is worth staying on property for sure!
I have also been using this Orlando Crowd Tracker a ton to plan out when we would go to each park. It’s a great reference to see when each park is busiest so you can avoid it.
Another mini tip is if you haven’t been to Disneyworld during Halloween, you MUST go and see the Halloween parade. THE BEST parade I’ve seen at any Disney park by far. You’ll be singing BOO TO YOU!!! for weeks after. The last time we went we went to the Mickey’s Not So Scary Party and there wasn’t hardly anyone there, which was AWESOME. If you do go in the fall be prepared for rain everyday, but it doesn’t last all day and keeps the crowds down. We are SUPER excited too because the International Food & Wine Festival will also be going on and if you know me, you know I LOVE to eat-especially good food.
Hopefully these mini tips can help someone that is planning their trip to Orlando! I’m sure I’ll be adding more tips about our trip as it gets closer. We are so excited for Disney….but CAN NOT WAIT to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!!! I mean I just may cry when I see it….ok I know I will!
oh you need to do the not so scary halloween party if you are going during Halloween! We LOVED it! And Disney during halloween is so pretty ha… we went in 2012 from October 31st to November 10th, and got to see it decorated for Halloween AND Christmas lol
and we went this January … and LOVED it… and going to Disneyland in September, and back to the World in 2016 lol. We are Disney freaks haha
Haha I love it Crystal Schmidt-we are too!!! Looking up where are the best places to eat now. Where were your favorites? We are trying to get into Be Our Guest and Mythos at Universal right now.
ohhhhhh sci-fi diner was one of our favorites!!! It is at Hollywood studios. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153040928544445&set=a.10151432487939445.498059.510119444&type=1

No what is that?
It is the Disney boards vacation facebook group. All things Disneyworld! You can ask questions and all kinds of things
Sweet! I’m in a Disneyworld Addicts group. I’ll join that one too!
When are you going?
I’ll message ya!
Haha that is awesome!!!
Thank you for posting this! We are going to DW in Feb for our honeymoon/3 year anniversary!
and honestly … even as a photographer, and even though the pictures aren’t great… it was worth even just getting all the ride photos. I signed up for the photo pass… and got like 400 photos and even videos from the seven dwarfs mine train ride…. it was nice to be in photos in front of the castle… and such. I mean they aren’t the quality we are used too… but honestly, it was nice to all be in a photo with the ball or the castle and such…. I still brought my camera haha… but it was so nice! The ride photos were a hoot!
How much is the photo pass?
if you buy it before your trip… $169.

That’s not as as bad as I thought it would be! I need to look into that!
We normally don’t get those lol since they were so expensive per photo….
we got 418 photos!! It all depends on how often you stop to have people take your photos….. but you get all the ride photos included. We always stopped at each park and had a picture taken of all of us, since it was included in the price kwim. 🙂 All the character photos are included too.
so I took my own camera for the characters but…. we were able to get a big group photo too… 🙂 which was nice. I am almost never in any photos lol
We love photopass and generally average 1200+ photos per trip. Our kids LOVE the MAGIC SHOTS. Just ask any photopass photog who isn’t using a tripod and they will usually oblige with a magic shot. My kids go crazy for them and often get little mini photoshoots with the photographers.
FYI the 1200 photopass pics are in addition to those I take, which end up being upwards of 1000. Also, do you have a Chase Visa? If so, there is a dedicated Chase Visa character meet and greet at EPCOT and you get a free 5×7 print of one of the shots from the “session.” Worth doing as it’s usually Mickey or Minnie + others. They are closing Innoventions so I’m not sure where they’ll be doing that in the Fall, but someone will know by then.
Nice Terra Cooper!!! Great tips for sure! Next time…just ask me ha ha:) I’m there like every month:)
Hook a sister up Chris McClain!!! I don’t have a chase visa Andrea Dawn Hayes Allen. Dang.
Just take me with you and I can probably sign you in
Plus free food ah ha.
