WPPI-Part 2

So last week I told you about the first fun filled days at WPPI in Las Vegas.  Now for Part 2!!!  On our third day there we started our morning in Jerry Ghionis’ class.  He is Australian, inventor of the Ice Light, and a dramatic wedding photographer and I could honestly listen to him teach us about anything with that accent.  Luckily though he did teach us all some amazing tips on how to have the best relationship with our clients.  After that I headed out to meet some of my friends in my business group and the mentors of Team-X.  You can become a member of the Team-X Café group here and get to learn about how to work happily ever after!  I love all I have learned this last year from Jeff Jochum and have MeRa Koh to thank for it-she introduced me to Jeff last year at WPPI.

We went to Wolfgang Puck’s for lunch after going to the Expo for a bit and had some delicious pizza.  I sure love that Wolfgang Puck!!!  Then it was off to Jared Platt’s Lightroom 4 class.   He gave us some great shortcuts to flow between Lightroom and Photoshop and made me want to streamline my workflow more.  We headed out to Photographer’s Ignite, where each speaker gets five minutes to teach us something or entertain us.  It was awesome.  Some of the members of my business group presented and they did awesome!!!  You can check them out here soon and check out previous years of Ignite.

After being entertained and well fed, it was off to the BayPhoto party to dance the night away with a bunch of fun photographers (mostly from Utah, but we let non-Utahns come and party with the fun group too!).  Here are a few picts from the party!

You can see a little bit of the party on my friend Scott Jarvie’s VLOG below (skip to 16:45 to see the party!!)

So by the next day I didn’t feel like someone beat up my face, but had steamrolled my entire body!!  All night partying and early morning classes were killing all of us-but well worth it!  I had to wake up because one of my favorite photographers class was at 8:30, Sue Bryce.  It is not just her photography that I love-it is her!!!  She is amazing!  We waited in line for a good twenty minutes to get a picture with her…and a hug….and my necklace getting caught on her gorgeous lace dress.  So embarrasing!!!  So this is a picture I took from my camera of the back of my friend Vell’s camera.  Thanks Vell!  And yes, I did not bring a camera to WPPI.  Kind of regretted it sometimes, but my shoulders and back thanked me!

We ate at Delights in the Signature for lunch and it was delicious.  Then went to Melissa Ghionis’ class (Jerry’s amazing wife) and seriously took four pages of notes!!!  Loved her!!!  We decided instead of parties to go to Serendipity for some dessert after the awards dinner and see the Bellagio fountains and gardens.  We were walking Zombies pretty much that night and could hardly walk.  It would have been a funny thing to see.

So I can’t not take a picture of one of my favorite things in the world—even though it isn’t the real one!  There is a dance club in the middle of the Eiffel Tower that I am going to go to next time we were there.  It looked awesome!

We left on Thursday and had an amazing car ride back with my roomies that have become my best friends.  Thank you Erin, Kelli and Tara for making my week so awesome!!!
