So after Versailles we went to dinner near Sacre Coeur with some friends. The food was fantastic. I tried pollock fish which was really great!
On Sunday morning we took the metro to near Notre Dame. This was the first building we saw as we walked towards Notre Dame. I loved the palm trees all around it.
Then we crossed the river. I love the bridges and river and can only think of Les Miserables when I am walking through Paris.
It was a crowded Sunday morning, but the line went really fast. Mass was going on so it was cool to be able to see that as well.
The Rose Window never disappoints. So much detail in each piece!!
We walked to a nearby bridge that still has locks on it. They are starting to cut them off all of the bridges in Paris…but there are a lot of bridges and even more locks so it will take a while.
We stopped and got some crepes for lunch then headed out to the street again to walk along the river to La Louvre.
And then there was this guy. He was making a fitness video-the wood things are his weights.
I walked across the street from the Louvre to see Galerie Chevalier. This is the gallery that the awesome family that I stayed with the first time I went to France owns. It was Sunday so it was closed, but I still wanted to get a few shots of it-even if it was just the doors!!
Loved this spot on the river Seine!!
I love that there is a pigeon on almost every statue. The sad man one was hilarious. Poor guy.
We walked from the Louvre up to the Place de la Concorde and hung out at the water. From Notre Dame to Arc de Triomphe it is about 4 miles so we took a break and had some ice cream!
We just relaxed for a while and I took pictures of the very fast birds that were diving for fish.
On our walk up to Champs Elysee.
So many memories here! I was here in 1998 after France won the world cup and it was an amazing celebration! Zizou pour president!!!
Now I have new memories here. Hermine had to go catch her flight back to Lorient and we had to say goodbye. After she left I went into the ugly cry for a bit but I pulled it together and we walked under the street to climb to the top of the Arch to watch the sunset 😀
We stayed up here for about two hours, so there was a lot of different looks we saw as the sun went down. Here are some of my favorite views of the city.
When the sun broke through the clouds it lit up the city and it was so beautiful!
The sun went down and the Eiffel Tower lit up 😀
We had some fellow selfie stick friends next to us. Not sure how using it to get that shot helped but…. ;D
And then it started to glitter.
Last picture I took in Paris. Lots of memories there too-including eating snails for the first (and last haha) time. I hope you have enjoyed seeing Paris through my eyes!
