Tips on how to attend a {bridal show}

In Utah we have MANY MANY Bridal shows, especially this time of year.  So what can you as a bride do to not only enjoy them, but get the most out of them?

1. GIVEAWAYS!  DISCOUNTS!  CONTESTS!!

There are many giveaways at bridal shows, so make sure to enter them all.  You never know when you might win!  Go to the bridal show websites for details on the giveaways as well as go to the shows and ask vendors that you are interested in what kind of giveaways/discounts they may be offering at the show!

2.  MAKE A LIST

Make a list before you go of things you still need for your wedding/vendors you may be interested in.  There are many vendors at each show, so it may get overwhelming, so by sticking to your list of the things most important for you to see, you’ll save yourself time and stress

3.  CREATE A WEDDING EMAIL

Vendors pay a lot of money to get email lists from this show.  By creating a specific email JUST for your wedding will make it so you don’t get a lot of unwanted emails in your primary email.   Most vendors don’t like to spam brides and send out too many emails, but if every vendor at a show emails you just one time, you may get 100 emails in your inbox!!

4.  PRINT OUT LABELS

Many vendors ask for your email, wedding date, location, etc.  By making labels beforehand you don’t have to rewrite your information on their lists, just peel and stick!

5.  ASK QUESTIONS!

Do your research.  Ask lots of questions about what is EXACTLY included in the service they are offering.  If you end up booking a vendor at the show, many of them give big discounts, so you may want to also bring your checkbook.  Many of these things are big purchases though, so make sure you really want to spend a lot of time with this person on one of the most important days of your life!

6.  ONLY TAKE WHAT YOU REALLY WANT

Try to only stop at booths that you are interested in-most vendors give out paper products (fliers, brochures, etc) and your bags can get really heavy really fast.  ie. So if you already have a photographer for your wedding, just tell the photographers at their booths.  You will save your time and theirs and they won’t mind at all!

7.  EAT, DRINK & BE MERRY

There usually are great food and drink samples at bridal shows, so don’t eat a ton before you go!  Also just HAVE FUN, bring friends/family/your groom and have a great time!  Also wear flats-your feet will thank you later!!
