I had the BEST week in Vegas for WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photography Conference)<\/a>.\u00a0 This year the\u00a0Director of WPPI\u00a0was my friend,\u00a0the\u00a0very talented NYC based photographer, Jason Groupp<\/a>. \u00a0He and his team put together a great conference and worked their butts off doing it.\u00a0 If you are\u00a0even in NYC,\u00a0make sure to book one of his I Heart NY sessions and see the city like you should!<\/p>\n

I also had some amazing<\/span><\/strong><\/em> roomates who just happen to also\u00a0be fabulous photographers.\u00a0\u00a0We became instant friends and I feel like I’ve known them all forever! \u00a0 Seriously had so much fun with these girls-some of the fun will stay in Vegas-haha.\u00a0 Check out their work at their links on their name:<\/p>\n

We had so much fun learning new things in our classes and going to parties and meeting other amazing photographers from around the world.\u00a0 On Sunday we went to the awesome\u00a0Lindsay Adler’s<\/a> class “Shooting in evil light.”\u00a0 I learned some great tips on using my reflectors.\u00a0 Then it was off to the Team-X party hosted by my business coach and one of my favorite people in the world, Jeff Jochum<\/a>.\u00a0 Tara and I met some new people and I loved meeting people in my business group in person!\u00a0\u00a0 I played some pool with some of the guys and even won a game and was so close to winning a lot more-seriously down to the\u00a08 ball a few times for both of us\u00a0{ok I’ll stop-I am a little bit competitive-haha!}.<\/p>\n

We went to the expo that morning to see all of the newest products out there for photographers and then hung out in the\u00a0nice warm sun with some fellow Utah photographers.\u00a0 It was here I found out from\u00a0Vell Smith <\/a>(who I knew only through Facebook until then and was so glad to finally meet him in person) that I am just “a little big cool.”\u00a0 As he said it he was putting his\u00a0thumb and finger to\u00a0make\u00a0it go from small to big, but it just made an L and I said, “What, I’m just a little bit cool?!” with the L sign on my forehead.\u00a0 It became the joke of the week for sure!\u00a0 I also got to meet Rachel Farner<\/a>\u00a0finally in person and she and I had way too much fun together!<\/p>\n

After we\u00a0went to Bambi Cantrell’s <\/a>class\u00a0and she is hilarious.\u00a0 One of my favorite quotes from her not really about photography was, “If the barn needs painting, you paint it!”\u00a0 Haha.\u00a0 She gave us great tips on posing.\u00a0 After her class we headed to the Shoot Dot Edit <\/a>party.\u00a0 Shoot Dot Edit is the best editors out there!\u00a0 They are super fast and very custom for your photography style.\u00a0 They also have great customer service, which is the most important thing to me in a company.<\/p>\n

We left the party a little early to go get some dinner\u00a0at my favorite place in the world, Wolfgang Puck’s Bar & Grill <\/a>in the MGM and had my gnocchi.\u00a0 Everyone laughed at me at how excited I was, well until they tried it!\u00a0\u00a0I shared a\u00a0chocolate souffl\u00e9 with my friend Kelli, another one of my favorite things there.\u00a0 So you would think at a photography conference I would have taken pictures….well I took like 8…on my phone (mostly of food), so forgive the awesome quality.\u00a0 It was actually kind of nice to not drag around my camera and the battery\u00a0in my phone was dying all of the time anyway! \u00a0So here is the gnocchi and the chocolate souffl\u00e9!!<\/p>\n

After\u00a0dinner we RAN through the casino to the Sony party….and had a few guys try to pick us up as we were running.\u00a0 It was funny.\u00a0 We made it to the last ten minutes of the party and danced until they turned the music off.\u00a0 We got to bed good and late and had to wake up early for our classes the next day!\u00a0 No sleep in Vegas is something everyone does, right?!<\/p>\n
