Sentimental Sunday | Before Our Adoption Placement

Last week I was at the Salt Lake Temple and having flashbacks to two years ago to another day that I was there taking pictures.  Lauren (our daughter’s birth mom) was almost to her due date and we were trying to come up with things to do to make the time pass faster.  We decided that it would be fun to head to Salt Lake and take some pictures with the blossoms.  That day turned out to be a VERY windy and cold one so we weren’t outside for very long before we retreated to City Creek.  At one point while we were outside Mandy (Lauren’s sister in law) and I did a big group hug to try to warm Lauren up.  Tara, my best friend since I was a teenager, just happened to be waiting for her VISA to move to Wales was there a few months before she delivered and literally left the day of placement-yep God’s hand as was in that one!  She kept me sane when I needed her most!  She took the picture of our “We are freezing” group hug.
adoption, open adoption, adoption stories, birth mom, hoping to adopt
I 100% believe that people are brought into our lives to either learn something from or teach something to.  Adoption has validated this belief a hundred times over.  I often am so humbled by how many miracles I see in adoption-the amazing people I meet-the lessons I learn.  I look back to this day two years ago and am so blessed by adoption-not just by our beautiful daughter-but by all of the people that have come into my life because of it.  We have added to our family in so many ways and so whenever I see these blossoms on the trees, I will always be reminded of where our story started and how far we have come.
